Domestic Property – Central London, Flooded Basement

This high-end property in central London suffered flooding throughout the basement level as a result of a water main failure.  The water damage extended to a TV room, bar area, wine store, utility room, cloakroom and hallway as well as damaging swimming pool pump equipment.

The house is occupied by long-term tenants who thanks to careful planning and coordination were able to remain in the property whilst the basement was stripped out, dried and reinstated.

Clayton Surveying worked closely with the customers building contractor to plan, design and manage the reinstatement, ensuring that the right level of strip out was completed to remove the saturated and damaged materials, whilst limiting the removal of items that could be retained and dried, saving time and cost, and minimising disruption to the tenants.

The property was fully reinstated over a 14-week period which included the procurement, manufacture and installation of bespoke joinery units in the TV room as well as the replacement of all wall and floor finishes, decorations, utility room and cloak room fittings.
